During WWII over 300,000 Jews from the Warsaw ghetto were deported to the extermination camp in Treblinka – around 100 km from Warsaw. Although nothing remains from the original death camp, the place is certainly worth visiting. You should know, though, that it will affect you a lot.
In Treblinka you can visit a small museum displaying some original objects found within the area of the former camp. Then you walk towards the place where trains used to arrive and discover a beautiful memorial made of granite stones that form a symbolic graveyard.
We strongly recommend visiting Treblinka camp with a guide, as it requires comments (the information provided in the museum is very scarce). If you take a private tour, we can combine it with a visit in another interesting place in the region.
